Face to Face Interpreting Types
Consecutive Interpreting
Most of our interpreting assignments take place in courts, solicitor offices, hospitals, doctors, dentists and other medical surgeries, schools, residences, businesses, factories or conferences / exhibitions. Your interpreter will, as standard, provide a consecutive interpreting service (where one person speaks after another, rather than simultaneously).
Simultaneous Interpreting
Simultaneous interpreting is when an Interpreter translates what the speaker is saying at the same time as they’re saying it, often through equipment. Simultaneous interpreting ensures all attendees are able to follow the discussion or speech with ease. Simultaneous interpreting can produce a pressured environment and only highly trained interpreters can provide a high quality result in such a situation. At Talking Heads we understand the pressures involved and will source the right individuals for the given circumstances.
Business & Conference Interpreting
We provide conference interpreting for both on-site and virtual events. Our qualified and experienced linguists and equipment can be integrated with your PA system to provide seamless interpreting. Multilingual Appointment Making
Before you even get to the appointment time, you may need to book the appointment with a non-English speaker. A ‘liaison interpreter’ takes care of scheduling appointments, confirming availability of non-English speakers on your behalf and coordinating the interpreter’s availability. We can arrange both face-to-face interpreting and remote interpreting, dependent on your needs.

Clear voice interpreting is a technique used by interpreters to ensure that their spoken words are clear and easily understood by all parties. It involves speaking slowly and clearly, enunciating each word and using appropriate tone and pitch.

How do you ensure the quality of your interpreting services?
Quality checking begins with the first contact. We immediately note the quality of the approach, whether this is by phone or email. For those who get past that first step, their CV is scrutinised and is followed by a comprehensive induction process. This applies to all our interpreters. The induction includes training on confidentiality, GDPR, Code of Conduct, Safeguarding, etc. Our interpreters must also take four marked tests to ensure they meet our high standards. Once projects are assigned, we evaluate our interpreters regularly, and their average evaluation scores are used to calculate their overall QA score. This ensures our team provides the very best language services. If we are not happy that an interpreter is maintaining the standards we and our customers expect, we will cease our relationship with them.
