Supporting Breast Cancer Care

eventinterpreting

It was our absolute pleasure to provide a Polish Interpreter for a Younger Women Together support event for Breast Cancer Care this month.

Younger Women Together is for women aged 20-45 who have been diagnosed with primary breast cancer in the last three years. They can come to the event and meet around 30 other women under 45 who’ve been diagnosed with primary breast cancer. They have the chance to talk, share and be themselves – away from the pressures of everyday life.

One of the attendees of a recent event didn’t speak very much English and would not have been able to feel the benefit of this event without an Interpreter.

Talking Heads were happy to provide an Interpreter, free of charge, so that the lady in question could have the full experience.

Why the Younger Women Together events are so important:

I just wanted to drop you a quick email to say a huge thank you to you and your team. I was genuinely amazed by the skill of the interpreter and hadn’t appreciated how difficult it is to listen and interpret at the same time. Our client did speak a little English but certainly wouldn’t have benefitted as much from the event and the speakers had the Interpreter not being there.
